Services. The core service Variable Efficiency offers is data analysis and presentation of the associated results that will identify the most efficient operation of pumping systems, particularly those controlled by a Variable Speed Drive (VSD). The analysis available lends itself to pump selection and identification of the most efficient system operation; multi-pump control, including the development of algorithms to control the number of pumps operating to maintain optimum efficiency and potentially remove the need for discharge throttling or bypass valves; and the whole of life cost for various network arrangements, such as comparing pump set configurations and pressure main / force main / trunk sizing.
Pump Selection and SpeedWe can quantify the difference in energy efficiency between options, not just pump and motor efficiency. Often the nominated duty is only required for a relatively small proportion of the pump's life, we will quantify and compare the opportunities available from a variable speed drive. An example of a theoretical comparison can be downloaded below.

Multiple Pump ControlNeed to know more about options available? We can help quantify the difference between available packages, and assess which suits your needs best. We look at more than the package cost, or the nominated duty, we look at expected maintenance, redundancy and energy efficiency across the range of flow rates available.
Performance MonitoringWe can develop techniques to monitor pump package performance to allow targeted maintenance. Flow, pressure, power, or efficiency can all be monitored, so your pumps operate at their best, always. This can be through continuous online monitoring using tailored algorithms, or a set of data can be collected and compared to the original specifications to see where they are at right now.
